Who are we?

Cut to the smoke was started from a longstanding love of the outdoor cooking and sharing this with friends. We love trying new things and we began developing dry rubs and seasonings to enhance the cooking experience.

We hope that you will enjoy using our products as much as we enjoyed creating and testing them.

Our Ingredients

Having used many off the shelf products, we were disappointed that many were heavy in low-cost ingredients including salt and raw cane sugar and when it came to chilli’s we found that all they bought to the dry rubs were a little heat.

At Cut to the smoke, we wanted to develop our products using different ingredients. We use coconut sugar not only for its natural properties but it brings such a deep molasses taste and aroma to the cook. It also does not burn or char as easy as normal sugar resulting in less of a crumbly burned coating.

As for the chilli’s we wanted to use them to bring flavour not heat to our products. We blend Ancho, Mulato, Pasilla and Guajillo to name but a few to bring fantastic aromas and tastes to our blends.

When we have to use salt we limit our use of it but only use Oak smoked sea salt which brings unique layers of smokey flavours to the blends.

Our Packaging

We take pride in our product here at Cut to the smoke, and as such, we wanted to reflect that in our packaging.

We tried and tested different sizes and shapes of foil pouches before settling on a fully recyclable pouch.

Once we decided on the packaging we wanted the flexibility of creating unique packaging with a quick turnaround.

This is why the team here at Cut to the smoke chose to create our own etched Steel cliche’s and from these templates, we hand stamp our own packaging on-premise so every bag is slightly unique in its own way.

The entire process allows us to ensure the product you purchase is of the intended quality we want you to enjoy.
