Spice Isle 100g (Reserve Blend) (Medium Hot)
Inspired by a rich tapestry of flavors and aromas woven over centuries our Spice Isle (Reserve Blend) is crafted as an homage to this illustrious heritage.
From the fiery kick of the scotch bonnet to the earthy guajillo chilles every layer of flavor culminates in a symphony of Caribbean flavors.
This reserve blend uses a unique blend of chillis that deliver the well known punch of heat that quickly descends into the familiar Caribbean flavor profile.
Scotch Bonnet Chillis – Scotch bonnet and habanero peppers have similar origins. Both varieties were first cultivated in the Caribbean, and can be further traced back to the Amazon basin.
Today, the scotch bonnet has strong connections to Jamaica, where it is grown and used widely. Popular cuisines include jerk chicken marinade, peppered shrimp and conch, curry goat, and many other dishes.
Guajillo Chilli – Smooth-skinned guajillo chilli is one of the workhouse spices of Mexican cooking (along with the ancho chilli) and has a bright, tangy flavor that benefits from toasting.
Porcini mushrooms, also known as king boletes (Boletus edulis), are a species in the bolete family that are loved for their meaty texture and rich, earthy flavor.
How to Use – Form a paste using equal parts oil (Peanut or Sesame) and Spice Isle seasoning. Marinate your selected food for at least 4 hours. Dust further during cooking.
